belindasmallThe 24 Hour Surgery is staffed by around 100 people, including 10 doctors and 52 nurses. 

We are also supported by over 320 GPs in Christchurch, most of whom work with us on a rostered basis.

Our doctors are specially trained to provide general practice and accident related medical care and are supported by Christchurch GPs to provide 24 hour care, 7 days a week for the people of Christchurch.

Our nursing team have a wide range of experience in emergency care, many with specialised skills in child health, care of fractures, wounds and acute medical care.

Claire McQuilken - Operations Manager

Claire joined the 24 Hour Surgery as Operations Manager in early 2013 after many years working in both the public and private sectors. Claire is focused on ensuring the smooth day to day running of the facility and, working in conjunction with the clinical team, further development of the operation as it continues to provide safe, quality and timely direct to patient services. Outside of work, Claire enjoys spending time with her partner walking their dogs and thoroughly enjoys Mediterranean cooking which she equally enjoys sharing with friends.

Dr Jasmine MacKay – Clinical Director
FRNZCUC, PGDip Community Emergency Care, PGCert Womens Health, MBChB (Otago), BSc(Neuroscience)

Dr Jasmine MacKay started as the 24 Hour Surgery Clinical Director at the beginning of July 2018. Prior to taking up this role, she worked for six years at the surgery, starting as a Medical Officer and then completing her fellowship training programme in urgent care with the Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care to become a Senior Medical Officer. Jasmine started her career at Christchurch Hospital as a Junior Doctor. Jasmine is mum to a young son and enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
